What they build

The product, in plain terms

Pixelford builds live operations tooling for studios of under twenty people. The company started in Helsinki in 2022. We backed it at pre-seed and have worked with the team through Seed.

  1. 01

Tools built by people who shipped games, which is why studios return the call.

  2. 02

A workflow that survives launch week, since that is the only test that counts.

  3. 03

Pricing that scales with the studio rather than punishing a hit.

Why we invested

The note from the first meeting

We met Pixelford in 2022, back when studio budgets followed release cycles, so revenue arrived in bursts. Two other firms passed in the same month. We thought they were solving for the wrong risk, and we were happy to be alone on the cap table for a while.
Marcus WebbPartner
  • Hired its founding engineering team out of the alumni network.
  • Went from prototype to paid pilot in a single quarter.
  • Signed its first design partner before the program ended.

Founders

Who is building it

Both founders were in the room the day we wrote the check, and both still run the company.

  • Hana Fujimoto

    Co-founder and CEO

Came from the regulator side, which is unusual and turns out to matter.

  • Pablo Silva

    Co-founder and CTO

Came from a hardware background, which shows in how little the system assumes.

Timeline

How it has gone

The version we would give another investor, including the years where nothing looked like progress.

  1. 2022

    Founded

Hana Fujimoto and Pablo Silva start Pixelford in Helsinki around a single wedge: live operations tooling for studios of under twenty people.

  2. 2022

    We invested

We wrote the pre-seed check. Marcus Webb has worked with the team ever since.

  3. 2023

    Paid customers

Contracts replaced pilots, and the company stopped selling a roadmap and started selling a product.

  4. 2024

    Seed round

Raised at $22M, led by an investor we introduced during diligence. We took our full pro rata.

  5. 2026

    Where it stands

18 people, selling in more markets than it started in, still run by the two people who wrote the first version.
